About migraines, how to cure them, prevent them, and what causes migraines!

Migraines in Kids Today

Everybody hates headaches, because they ruin your mood, make you feel dizzy and they hurt. But on the other hand, migraines are much worse, because when they occur, you might feel like your head is about to explode, because you feel like your brain is pounding and you might also feel muzzy. Not to talk about the nausea that could occur and the touchiness when you see bright lights or when you hear loud noises. These could also worsen your migraine and make it last longer.

But do kids get migraines too? Yes, they do. Of course, not as often as a teenager or an adult, but they can still go through all of the unpleasant feelings caused by a migraine. Usually, migraines can be caused by stress or any kind of sadness that can also be related to depression states and all of these can signal a low serotonin level in the brain. Because of this, the blood pressure usually gets much higher, and that’s why your child will probably tell you that he feels like he has drums or the heart inside of his head. Not all children get migraines. You should be careful before treating a migraine, because there are also usual headaches that can occur when the child got the flu or just a seasonal cold. The worst thing about a migraine is that it can last for very long, starting from an hour or two and ending in days. If your child has this kind of migraine, which from who knows what reasons got chronic, you should immediately take him to the doctor. A very low percent of the migraines can be caused by brain tumors, but if your kid can walk well, talk well, see and hear everything without problems, then it is unlikely for him to experience something this serious. Anyway, a few medical tests will calm you down and tell you exactly how you should treat your little one. With the correct medication, your child won’t have problems anymore with depressing migraines and will finally have energy to do whatever he wants instead of sleeping all day.

Migraines can make you feel very bad and they should be treated as fast as possible. Even though not everybody has migraines, most of the population had at least a few during their lifetime. Especially if kids have it, you should do something about it quickly, because it’s just heartbreaking to see your child suffer.
